Door Build up Conversion to new Puma

I have a new set of Puma doors that are shells only (Door and inner door metal plate) that I want to use to replace my existing doors from my 1988 D90....Does anyone have a list of parts that I CANNOT take from my existing doors and swap over to the new doors?

I do have some new lock parts, handles, window glass trims but not everything...are the window channels the same? Window Regulator, lock rods etc.....some Items are cheap enough and I may just get new regulators but would like to have a clear understanding first...

Any help would be great!

I have the parts crossover - but not in an easily sharable format

not nearly enough shared items to make this a swap. More like a conversion.

I managed to find the old parts catalog and the new Puma catalog and while the part numbers have changed the basic components look near identical...The locks do not look like a major deal, the window regulator has changed and so I guess the glass channel and lift points are different...

Are the check strap brackets the same?

Am I on the right track regarding the regulator?

Check straps are the same from 1993 on (push button roll up version) cast version (not the rod)

regulator and glass side roller channels are different

Locks are no issue, neither are the rods, just watch the lower retainer mounting to the door frame, and the lower door seals

And don't forget that the door panels don't swap.

Very interested in this. Would love if you could compile a list of part numbers so that my lazy rear can replicate your hard work!

Mind if I ask why you are going this route? Im considering your way as NTO doors are a pretty penny on this side of the pond..add in disassembly and paint and you are easily $2k out. Unless Im missing something, genuine steel door skins and components appear to be under half that. Plus, all "NTO" stuff I've received have had their fair share of blemishes, all that add to the cost.

My current doors are rusted at the bottom and have the typical surface corrosion on the skins...I had the oppty when I first bought the truck to buy a set of NTO Puma doors in White and jumped on them...looking back I should have gone the way of my rear door and just got two new doors from SP as the shipping was reasonable..

I have the new door cards, and will order the check straps and window regulator and should be good to go...Will try and take some photos and keep track of which parts were needed...

Interested in this. Trying to decide nto doors or shells from sp4x4. They even sell a puma or a full galv door. Not sure if the full galv door is a perfect swap. The prices that everyone wants on these doors is crazy. At the end of the day $3k for two nto doors is ridiculous. At this point, they are not even nto any more. They are selling used doors... I've had guys tell me that the door is a 2012 nto, which I'm pretty sure doesn't mean it was removed in 2012, put into a warehouse for storage, and is now being sold as new old stock.

Actually my nto doors are from 2015 trucks with 0 miles. I still have a few sets left. Either complete or shells with glass and regulator.
Spending 3K on two doors would be a really good deal now. The prices are a bit higher than that. NO they are not cheap. But price out building a door is nearly 3k per door. The investment on something that will last you at least another 20 years is pretty good.
The cost on something that is no longer available (new take off) will not be going down, only up.

O.P.
I think there are a few things that swap over. I have read that the door card can be modified. But why not sell the old doors with the parts and invest the sale price in new parts.

Door cards can be made to fit, but it's a kludge. Stupid PO did that on my 130.

Not sure why 1500/door is bad for NTO auto parts. Try that with any other make/model.

I guess I understand the economics of it. Maybe the British were smart. They made a door that would rust out. People would need to replace them. Demand is still high. Land Rover stops making them. Supply goes down. Prices skyrocket. Free market economy. I guess I never priced out a NTO door on an F-150...
