Dome Light Stopped Working When Doors Opened (D90 NAS ST)

I've had my D90 a little over a year and the dome light has always come on intermittently with either the right or left door being opened. When it works, after the doors are closed the light fades out via a timed controller.

A few weeks ago it simply stopped working altogether. I replaced the dome light and both door switches with new parts to no avail. I fear the gremlin may live in the control module stored in the upper dash above the center facia.....

I have the black wire going into the side of the dome light and the purple wires at the two end connectors. The forward switch successfully turns on the light, but when switched to the door open setting I get nothing.

Any experience is greatly appreciated.

Might check the switches/buttons in each door jam. Remove the screws and clean them up...remove any surface rust on the screws and the holes they go in. I believe they act as a ground. That's what I did to get mine working properly....hope this helps....

yep- most likely the ground where the switch screws to the door jamb.

I had this happen in my NAS 90 as well on the drivers door. I just replaced the door switch. Can find new ones pretty easy and they are a cheap fix.
