Does anyone in the USA sell fiberglass hoods?

All:

I like the look of the RDX heavy duty model with the air scoop, but Bolt On Bits won't ship to the USA. I could buy one when I'm in the UK next year but then I'll have to pay the 20% VAT. Does anyone stock them stateside?

Thanks,

Paul.

You can get the VAT back when it leaves the country...you claim it at the airport even if it is shipped...

There are places in the UK that consolidate and forward parts to the US. Alternatively, I wonder if L8 will help.....

kinda .... You get a percentage back but subject to a processing fee by both the vendor and the company managing the refunds ...

Also sometimes they want to check the goods ... so you have to show them ... so for something in checked baggage it can be a challenge.

That being said i've used the process numerous times and it works well. Just don't expect a full 20% back.

ZG: whats the weight of the fiber hood compared to the metal hood? Much lighter, slightly later, same or heavier? Thanks for your help!

Fiberglass is slightly lighter than the Genuine according to my shipping manager.

I was initially opposed to the fiberglass, but now that almost 75% of puma bonnets are getting to us damaged, I see their value...

We don't carry that one...it's not like a Defender needs MORE water ingress.

Was it an RDX? I'm not bothered about the vent- I'll need all the air I can get where this rig's going...
