I am about make some sliders for my 130 and have a few questions. I have noticed on some sliders that it looks like the slider is mounted to the body by several bolts along the sill. Others are attached to the outriggers. It would seem that attaching them to the outriggers would be the strongest but I can see where attaching them t the body might distribute the blows along a larger surface area. What are your thoughts and ideas. It would be easier to buy sliders but there just are not too many companies here in the US making them for 130's plus I need the welding practice.
Forget the body! if made right you only need to attach to the outrigers/frame. I have given mine a few good hits and they have never once hit the body.
I'm with Mike. I welded up a pair for my 90 about a year ago and went with the frame mount. Pretty easy to build. Have fun, I love welding things up.............
Ok, I am planning on building a set this winter. Let see some pics of the attachment points and mounting systems for the sliders. I have a bigazz welder just waiting to bur up some wire.
