Discovery 200tdi injector pump return line

I replaced my 2.5TD with a Discovey 200tdi.

There is a return line on the back of injector fuel pump that has banjo connection with one side connected to the injector spill rail. Where does this the other pipe connect to? The fuel tank return?

Fuel tank return. You should have a line already there from your last motor.

Two plumbing options - plumb the return to the filter or directly back to the tank

Is there any advantage returning to the filter versus directly back to the tank?

back to the tank, about a 1/2 of the the fuel pumped is used for cooling the injection pump, also if there is any air in the system t gets released in the tank, where if it's plumbed to the filter as in the good old days, you just get air pumped back to the pump. Make sense?

Still looking for that place where I can carry a paddle and get asked what's that.
