Disco 2004 transfer case in a D-90 97 ?

My transfer case has a lot of play in the front output flange . I'm about to get a transfer case from a disco 2004 , Is this a straight swap using the 97 cable ? Thanks for any info on the above .

Should be.just a 1:2 ratio instead of a 1:4. What do you want for your old one?

Only problem might be the speedo drive if a '97 has one. You can just swap the rear output housing if it is a problem.

Oh yes, it's a straight swap, should have remembered.

Jorge, you are better off just replacing the front output bearing.

There's always a bit of play in the front output bearing. It's a ball race and a long way from the drive flange, they always seem to waggle up and down.
