Dim light

I've got a dim headlight. I assume that it is ground related with my prior experience involving being shitty at wiring. First thing that comes to mind is that the plug may be the problem. I wanted to ask you experts what the common problem is. Thank you in advance.

Could just be an old bulb. Sometimes instead of failing, they just get dim really fast, particularly non-haolgens. Got another bulb to try?

Either that, or check the voltage at the connector to see if you've got a drop in voltage there. If that's the case, first thing I would check is the switch. It's a known failure point.

Check the terminals in the plug where the bulb plugs in. I had the same issue and there was some corrosion on the termianls. Pulling the bulb and reinstalling it was the quick fix. Cleaning the terminals took care of it for good.

+1
Dim usually mean bad ground connection. Clean everything up and try it again before you buy any parts.

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

Also check as I have seen the plugs melt -- the three prong one that goes in the back of the headlight.

I also use dielectric grease even on interior lights when I change them--it keeps corrosion from being a nuisance.
