Dilemma... keep NAS or sell and get import

So little back ground, have a 95 D90 NAS approx 120k on it. Has the standard little issues but overall great vehicle. It is currently though just sitting in the garage back in the states while I am stationed in Germany.

There is a bevy of importable (will be when I PCS back to the states) 200/300 tdi 90/110 here that are in great condition(ridiculous german road laws hence why the D90 is still in the states)

I have serious lack of Defender in my life and the availability of great parts here so the question is do I part with my NAS and find a 109/110 here and bring it back when I come?

Decisions Decisions... Thoughts?

Lets start with, Have you driven a 110? Like it better than the 90?

I'd stay away from a 109 for a daily driver

Bit of clarification, would be a daily at all the 90 isn't even on Daily Status anymore as it's in the states for the next 2 years and as I have something a bit more fuel efficient for those tedious runs.

Sell the D90 and get something while you are in the EU.

Nothing good will come from a NAS D90 sitting for 2 years.

Yea it gets a drive about once a week into town, but apparently the idle is getting sketchy

Stretch the NAS D90 into a 110.

In the end, it is better, easier and cheaper than an import of unknown condition.

I think it is actually cheaper in the long run and better to bring one in from England. I went a head and got an import from liveridge. Had them restore it for me, frame up restoration, and they did a great job. I ended up putting down a bigger chunk of change right away, but in the long run I'm not going to be spending as much money for repairs, just goodies like the terrafirma suspension I just ordered Also I get like 25mpg compared to the v8 in the NAS.

I think the NAS is way way way over priced, the last one I saw at my local dealer was 28 grand for 80+ thousand miles. The back door was all bubbled up from rust, and it just wasn't in that good of condition. I say get an important that is restored from honest guys who do it for a living. You'll get a better 90, and it will be in great working order. Oh and get the diesel, that should even be a question.

If it were me and I could afford it, do both. The NAS will only increase in value. If the new Defender makes it to the states in 2015 then maybe not or maybe more, go figure. I do not know the prices to do restores in the EU but some of the stuff I have seen does not impress me unless the owner is on top of the rebuild procedure.

The NAS is scarce and a limited edition model. I wouldn't part with it.

I'd say it depends on whether you feel NAS values will hold a few years from now when the same year model ('94+) ROW trucks become widely available stateside. I wouldn't worry about the announced 'new Defender'.
