If you are interested in those, move quick. I was told only 2 110's were left and I know of others looking to buy them for a project.

Vadim - you are going down a long, bad road. There is not a practical, simple, cheap way to get a totally legitimate Defender in the US short of buying a NAS. You cant drive the truck over the border unless its going back to Canada. You can import the truck as parts but you cant reassemble and title it (specifically prohibited by law). You are allowed to reassemble the truck and posess it, but you couldnt legally drive it on the streets.

But if one were to put the 110 body on a Series chassis to replace a rotting body and then swap in a galvanized coil sprung frame and swap in salisbury axles and a 300tdi down the road then it'd make one heck of a series, right? Unlike most, I actually want a pickup 110. Could make it my offroad truck and pickup all in one.

That's one of the trucks left in Calgary, a 110 truck cab.

Does anyone know if US customs checks to make sure the numbers match. I know they are watching for the importing of defenders but would they care if the VIN didn't match the chassis? Poses the issue of importing legitimet Series trucks that have had chassis replacement. I know my IIA 88 didn't have matching numbers.

You can prolly not get a title for it in WA. Other states have different rules. I have problems in KS as well. CO seems easier to deal with. The other problem is insurance. Many companies will not cover these vehicles in their original configuration.

Is it possible for a Canadian registered truck to stay in the states? If the engine and transmission were pulled out after it arrived could it stay as a prts truck? I'm just thinking that would be an easier way to transport them to people who don't want to register them and build off roaders.

It seems a waste to have to tow a perfectly good running truck.
