Did ROW 2.5 timing cover come from factory with silicone on gasket?

Hey Folks,
I'm trying to figure out if my 1986 110 SW has had the timing belt changed. I've got the parts on the way to change it, but I'm not going to be in as big of a rush if it has been changed. The truck has 42000 miles on it (genuine).

The timing cover has black silicone showing squeezed out around the gasket - does anyone know if this is typical for a factory job or if it is a tell-tale post-factory job?

Yeah I didn't believe it at first - but the more I drive it and spend time working on it the more I'm absolutely convinced its a genuine 42K. My guess is a hard 42K on a farm... but 42K nonetheless.
