Did 1995 SW D90s come with an electric fan?

Hi All,

I just talked to the previous owner of my D90 (I'm the 3rd owner) this past weekend.
My D90 has a single electric fan in front of the radiator, and the regular belt driven one behind it.
I asked him if he had installed the electric fan, and he said..that was a design change that happened mid-year on the 95 models.

Is this true?
If so, something sounds fishy. My buddy has #451/500, and his doesn not have an electric fan. Mine is #163/500, and does. IF this was a mid-year "upgrade"...then technically, his should also have it, since mine was built before his, right?

Thanks,

-arbi

yup, you can turn that fan on when you turn on the fan for the AC, I think it might provide some extra air flow..

I have seen the D-90 wgn's (95) without AC.

Also, the numbers (such as 163/500) are random numbers and not build order--they basically were the number from which they were off loaded from the freighter or removed from the import lot and were stamped state-side for marketing purposes.

BINGO!!
Thanks guys!! You guys are a bunch of wizzards!
The other truck doesnt have AC!
So, maybe I can put a bypass switch, and just turn on the fan, when needed. That would be good for cooling, no?
So the AC fan comes on with the AC internal fan switch? or the AC condensor switch?

AC comes on with the switch that has the blue on it, condensor switch. the fans come on with the fan switch.

On my 94 if i turn the temp on the AC all the way to its hottest seting it kicks the fan on without turning on the compressor. I was running like that on trails last year when I was running hot.
