Diamond Plating for D90

I bought my d90 with diamond plating on it, however I am now replacing my rear bumper on my 95 Defender because some idiot hit me. Does anyone know where I can find replacement diamond plating for the step on the stock bumper.

Also, I was thinking about putting some diamond plating on the inside bed of my D90, has anyone done this before and where did you get the plating from?

Thanks in advance.

Rob,

Can he do the chequerplating as well as the diamond plating? In the US all I've seen is diamond pattern- in the UK there is the 5-bar chequer/checker plating.

I'd be curious if anyone else knows of a source for 5-bar chequerplate here in the states.

I believe he can get 5 bar. It's not common overhere but it is available. There was a place in Henderson, Colorado...i think it was called Alreco...they specialized in scrap...they had 5 bar off cuts that they would sell by the pound. I sometimes bought small quantities from them for various projects over the years

5 Bar Diamond Plate

I was at a local True Value Hardware store yesterday... They had large sheets of 5 bar diamond plate. I believe it was about $8.50 a square foot.

David, you beat me to it. Industrial Metal Supply in Burbank, CA, has all kinds of diamond plate. Plus (for those living locally), they're a great source of sold-by-the-pound remnants. I've built racks to mount jerry-cans, a five-gallon water jug, sand ladders, my Pull-Pal, etc., all from IMS scrap aluminum tubing and plate, at a fraction of what the same metal would cost cut to order.
