Defender seat boxes all the same?

Hi, apologies if this is a rookie question, I'm a bit new to the Defender world!

The battery box in my new Defender project has seen better days. Is anybody able to confirm that all seat boxes are the same if I were to buy one off ebay? Mine is a 93 200tdi 110 hard top (if that makes a difference!).

I've seen online that it is just riveted together but there is minimal difference in cost between the replacement panel and a complete seat box!

The seat boxes are different for different transmissions. You need one for an LT77 if your reverse gear is up and to the left and an R380 if it is down and to the right.

Reverse is top left, so its an LT77 then, thanks. The seat box I was looking at on eBay looks a bit to good and new to be for older car and is likely off a TDCI/PUMA. I've asked the question from the seller, glad I asked here.

He's wrong, they don't all fit every model (well, they will bolt in, but you won't be able to fit the transmission tunnel or floor plates if it's the wrong one)

Looking at that picture, he seems to have another seatbox and the corner of a bulkhead there, all in the latest metallic green colours....

wonder if you'd get a receipt? or if he'd mind you shining an IR torch over the panels and looking for smart water marks....
