Defender ECU

I realize there are numerous threads on ecu problems for the Defender. But the info ages and in some cases is contradictory. I've just swapped info with Roverland who assure me a Disco ecu will not work with a Defender. Yet the posts are full of people saying they should/will.

Will ONE person running a 93,4,5 D90 on an ecu out of a Discovery say so. And if so please give us the model number 3729(Disco) vs 3947(Defender) and does it say 14 CUX?

The D90 ecu is discontinued everywhere I've checked (including sources in the UK) and the longer we keep em running the more likley we all are to need ecu repair.

I ran a RRC ecu in my 1995 for a long time and a disco ECU in my 1994 for a while.

Both said 14CUX. I am not sure of a part number.

That's the sort of proof I needed. I'm off to buy a Disco 14 cux ecu as a spare. I found a place in the UK that rebuilds for about $300 but the shipoping is $40 each way.

If it makes you feel any better, I even ran a 1993 NAS 110 ecu in my trucks too.

The only issue, and it is not relevant to you so much as you have a 1995 and it sits under the seat, is that the physical housing of the ECU has different mounts and the little tabs are missing to mount on the bulkhead of a 1994/93 NAS 90/110 with the disco/RRC ECUs.
