It might already be burried on this page............but I, for one, had not see it. I LOVE this video and have already showed it to several people!

This video helps explain why we all put up with our D90s

I was about to sell the D-90 but now that I see over 70% of all Land Rovers ever made are still in operation and the fact that a Land Rover Defender is probably the first vehicle that 60% of the worlds population ever sees keeps me inspired and reminds me why I bought one.

Yes I was thinking the same thing after watching the clip...I feel like sending it to all my friends who think I am crazy to have spent money on a 10 year old vehicle.

Now imagine a 20 year old with the steering on the wrong side. My mom still thinks I lost a few marbles.

Ho well, wait when they see it comming out of the garage next sping ...

I am so BUMMED! I loved this video. I was sending it to all my friends. Now the video has been pulled from the web.

Any idea where we can all get a copy!

It's from an old episode of the BBC motoring show "Top Gear". Richard Hammond is the presenter in the clip that was on YouTube.

You can download any episode of "Top Gear" here: http://www.isohunt.com/. But, unfortunately, I don't know the episode number of the one with the Defender segment in it. (Just download them all, and then let us know please. ) The segment where Jeremy Clarkson drives an LR3 to the top of a mountain in Scotland, and the one with the Bowler are in there somewhere too. ("Top Gear" has done quite a few segments on Rovers, being the total English xenophobes they are.)

Follow-up Post:

P.S.: It's back up under a different link: .

You better hurry and watch it over and over and memorize it before the BBC shuts it down again.

Top Gear also did a farewell to the Rover V8 but I could not find it on YouTube or Top Gears Site. They said that more had been in more automobiles then any other engine...Anyone seen it and have a link to it?

V8 Segment

It was from Series 4, Episode 8. But . . . unfortunately, it isn't a very good segment (very disappointing, in fact).

It starts out with a very nice shot of a group of around 25 vintage cars and trucks that are powered by a Rover V8, and then there's 30 seconds or so of nice history stuff (Land Rover is only mentioned in passing). But then it goes off on a tangent all about the greatness of the Rover SD1 saloon car (whose magic is totally lost on me)--which happens to have a Rover V8--and then the rest of the segment is all about Richard Hammond driving the Rover SD1 in a vintage car race. And that's about it. I remember when I first saw it, I was annoyed. It wasn't what I expected or hoped for.

If you want to see it, you can BitTorrent it here or here.

Here's an episode description at the Top Gear fansite "Final Gear".

And here's the Wikipedia complete Top Gear episode guide, if you want to find other (better) bits to amuse yourself.
