Defender 90 1997 NAS SW VIN Label Sample

Need help here... looks like my VIN Label at the footwell is missing; no clue why it is gone, I am the 2nd Owner, have had this vehicle since 2006. All vehicle VIN numbers match up, so just replacing the missing label. Looking for a good photo of Defender 90 1997 NAS SW label. Found someone who can recreate this (vehicle vin stickers), yet need a good sample. If this works out, will share will ALL.

LRNA is no help, dealer is clueless.

If anyone can send a photo, would appreciate it!

Thanks.

Welcome to the Board. You need more than 3 and less than 10,000 posts before you ask for stuff like that.

Mine was partially Rhino-lined over by the PO so I'm interested in this as well.

Where in SJ are you? Work in Tech in the valley?

I live/work in PA and drive my truck daily ... hope to see you around

This isn't the footwell one...

The sticker in question is white and was originally down by the drivers left foot.

Cool, another AW '97 SW in San Jose!
Are you looking for photo of label, then re-print a new label with your VIN #, etc.?
I can probably help... I can take a picture of mine, and white-out any info unique to my truck.

James, I work in PA also, off Arastradero and Foothill. Though, my truck only makes to PA about 2x a week.
You?

Yes I am looking for a good photo of the sticker. vehicle vin stickers reproduces it with my VIN and generates the correct bar code. If you could help, that would be great.

Went to DMV yesterday to register my 95 Defender 90. I have the metal vin plate behind the driver side front window only. They are sending me to CHP office for verification. They require 2 VIN locations!!!!

Car easily passed smog and I have all the paperwork regarding history of vehicle.

Nightmare!!!

Your inspector was a hack. There are plenty of points of verification. You'll be fine if it's a legit '95 NAS. I even had to take my grill off for the DMV. Lost a socket, somewhere in my frame to this day, because of it all. Don't ask..... :-)

if you scan that barcode do you get the VIN number? or something else? What exactly is that bar code supposed to generate? I bought a new bulkhead so I need the sticker too although in Texas they aren't going to check and it's already registered I just need to get through inspection.

The VIN is also stamped on the front fight frame rail. So that would give you the second spot and you wouldn't technically even need the sticker.

Purchased the car from Colorado. The stamp on the frame is missing!!! There is literally no other vin number anywhere on the car. This car was clearly purchased in 1995 from the dealership so I'm a bit confused. All my paperwork shows this but regarding the second vin, it's no where to be found....

I want to be prepared prior to my CHP appointment.

It's supposed to be a legit 95 NAS. It was purchased in colorado from the dealership in 1995.

How else can i prove it's a NAS???

carfas shows when and were it was purchased, definitely in the USA.

So the right front frame horn is completely blank, no evidence of the original vin number at all? Is it a galvanized chassis or to your knowledge has it been replaced? Not having the vin number on the frame is likely going to be an issue with CHP.

Maybe post some pics of what you're looking at. Hopefully you're just missing something. If so, we're gonna beat you like a younger brother.

If you mean driver side front, it is not there. I am going to lift the car again at the shop and look everywhere. Everything looks original but the chassis may have been replaced based on the evidence I'm gathering at this point. I doubt the previous owner will say anything. I'm running out of options in my opinion. Upset.
