Post pics and details. Or a link to the for sale as if you still have it?

Found the sticker at the footwell. The last owner was a genius and decided to cover it. You can see the top numbers but now I'm not sure if i should try and remove it because it will damage the sticker.

I still cannot identify the vin on the frame as I think the ARB front bar is blocking it. My vehicle also has the Rockware skid plates installed. Didn't lift the car yet but will do it on Tuesday and remove what I need to.

What do you guys suggest about the footwell sticker? I don't want CHP to think it was intentionally altered.

I bet your vin number on the frame is there and you just need to uncover it. The sticker shouldn't be an issue with Chp because they can accurately verify it with your frame vin and vin tag on the body. I'd try to remove that speaker component. Is it held on with screws? Check the outside of the footwell.

It's stuck on there tight with a glue I cannot identify. May have to slowly chip away at it.

Does anyone know if the ARB front bar attachment is blocking the VIN on the footwell? I will look into this on Tuesday but just curious if anyone knows.

Here is where the vin stamp is on your frame. Can you see this part of the frame? If not, uncover it.

If you go take a look at your frame you will identify what you see in that photo. As others have mentioned, it's the right front outside of your frame.

Probably some of that doublesided mounting tape.Try a hair dryer to heat it up a little and see if it will peel off.

Appreciate all the help.

Just to confirm, is there only one place on the frame where the vin is located? Anywhere else?

Team,

Lucky day. The speaker component unit was actually screwed on, not glue, so after removing it you can clearly see the sticker!!

Went to DMV and waited over an hour to finally get all the registration out of the way. The Defender is officially a CA vehicle.

Thank you everyone for the help and I will also PM bridog63 an image of the sticker for his reference.

My 94 Defender's VIN sticker looks just like the 96 Disco one. Does the 97 Defender's sticker look the same?

Found someone who can recreate this (vehicle vin stickers), yet need a good sample. If this works out, will share will ALL.

LRNA is no help, dealer is clueless.

If anyone can send a photo, would appreciate it!

Thanks.
Did you find a label supplier? please pm me with the details. thanks
