Defender 110 starter

Hi everyone. I have a 1988 Landie, Diesel 110 and she won't crank over. Working on a few issues. I live in southern Canada...aka Watertown, NY and it's cold as all balls here. So, 1. When I turn the key there is just one click; that's it. Checked wiring it seems fine, so I assume it's the starter. Do I have to buy that specific year/type of starter for her or can I supplement with a new starter type? She's a Diesel and I don't know if that matters. Any cold weather tips?

Also my heater doesn't work, like at all. Any suggestions for a heater matrix upgrade that won't break my bank?

Thanks so much in advance

More likely the battery or a wiring issue. Starter cover a lot of years.

Contact Robert Davis (rdavisinva) for a starter if you do need one.

Fort Drum? I was there for 5 or so years. What unit? I was in 3-10 GSAB.

What's your mechanical ability? Which engine?
