Davis Unified Ignition

My ignition module is bad so I ordered a new distributor. I called Mallory and MSD. They both recommended I purchase Davis Unified Ignition 96920RD.

I did a search on this forum but did not find any info on this distributor. I did not buy it from Summit Racing since its a 2 week lead time. I ordered one from http://www.performancedistributors.com/ 3 day lead time.

Anyone know about this? Its a old Buick/GM small block style distributor. It has the coil built-in.

You can repair your Lucas ignition module with some wiring and a $30 GM ignition module.

I would do some more research. I believe the DUI is not worth all the hacking required to make it fit. I read somewhere it requires grinding on the intake / intake bolt? Genuine is still the best IMO.
