Dash Speakers for the NAS D110

I'm not an audophile, so thought I'd ask a question. Are the dash speakers in the NAS D110 a standard size? Is there a good aftermarket replacement that doesn't require modifying the dash? I have one buzzing and looking at replacement options.

NAS 110s have roughly 4" speakers up front (not 6") and the factory ones are super shallow to allow for wiper motor clearance. You can't put much bigger in there unless you make a build out, or just put them in the doors.

Thanks Mike. Kenwood makes a 4" speaker that it says mounts about 1 3/4" deep. Do you think they would fit?

Sorry, don't know.

The issue with bigger speakers in NAS 110s is that they hit the wiper motor on the LH side and if you run a better speaker with a bigger magnet on the RH side the magnet won't let the air distribution flap move correctly. The flap is steel and the magnet will hold onto it making is so you never get defrost and stuff.

Hence why we put them in the doors.

I got a set of 4" pioneer speakers from the local best buy for $20... HUGE improvement. Direct plug and play too. I just asked for the floor model because they were in the process of swapping out all the audio inventory. They usually have a pair or 2 of former display speakers sitting around they'll give you for next to nothing.

Cheers Mike, i couldn't remember if it was 6" or not.

You can get a spacer for the speakers to pack them out a bit (unless you're already using them?)

Part # AMR3840, they're about 3/4" thick, moulded plastic. i can take a piccy of the ones in my 110 if you need.
