approx how much does a 97 weigh with fuel and without any people

Soft Top: 3,768 lbs

SW: 3,902 lbs

Makes you think.... an Ariel Atom weights 1000 lbs and has 220bhp. My wagon with the winch, winch bumper, 33s, me, roof rack, sliders, underbody protection, and other junk probably weighs 5000lbs. Atom power to weight ratio of 4.54 lbs per hp whereas the D90 is very comparable 27.8 lbs per hp...but I corner better

I don't think the posted weights on the D-90 are correct. I have nothing to base this on other than my opinion, but I think they are significantly heavier then they say. Closer to 4000 for a soft top.

The Ariel Atom is one cool "car" and uses early defender lights as factory spec! See your Defender is a distant cousin to the Ariel Atom. :-)

I think 5000 lbs was with premium

My 95 D-90 SW weighed 4450 lbs with me in it, I also had a 100 lb dog inside. I have steel wheels with 33's, rock sliders and a winch and bumper combo on the front.

I went thru the scales at the landscaping place yesterday and with me, my skinny wife, and a softtop 95 D-90 at 4,400 lbs.

I really think I am on to something here! That puts it at 4,100 on a st with a big guy and small girl's weight removed.
