Bad O2 sensors

Do you have a check engine light on?

I was going to say roll the window down when you fart but bad O2 sensors could also be the culprit.

The fact that it stopped when the check engine light comes on pretty much confirms the O2 theory.

Evilfij: diagnosing land rovers over the internet since 1998

Last I checked roverguy had new O2s for $100 each. Replace the front two if you want to save money. The code will tell you which one is bad. Used ones in the back are no big deal as the back ones don't do much other than check to make sure the cats are working.

:-)
