d90 ROW side markers

Hi all, long time Series and Brit car owner, but new d90 owner here. She is a ROW d90 2.5NA originally delivered to France. She was delivered Saturday.

All seems good for the State inspection, except for inop side markers. I have a replacement set, but am looking for some experience on how best to replace them. The service manual is arther cruptic and searches indicate that the job is a pain, but provided no actual details...or none that i found yet.

Do the inner fenders have to be removed or can I get in by just removing the plastic arch? Any other tricks? thanks all.

It's a complete PITA. The inner fenders have to come off from what I remember.

The wiring runs on the outside top of the inner wing, held in place by lte hooks. If you're lucky you can get to it through the headlight hole. Worst case, you can pull the outer wing skin with relative ease.

Thanks both, was afraid of that. Sounds like a weekend project after vacation...

Do it right w/ lots of dielectric paste and hopefully not worry about it for a long time.

Got this done pretty easily by just removing the flares, the wiring was exactly where described. Little tight working up there, but not too bad.

Also, while I was in there I changed the side repeaters to side markers...plug and play and I figure there is more of a safety benefit to having at least a front side marker on the vehicle.
