D90 rollcage spread

I removed the front crossmember from my rollcage in order to change the vent seals on my '97 D90. I didn't get around to putting the crossmember back on for about a week, and now the rollcage seems to have spread out. In other words, the bolt holes no longer line up! I can get the bolts back in, but they are angled and won't tighten fully as a result. Any thoughts on how to remedy this "bind". Thanks in advance!

Use a rachet strap to get it to line up.

Not sure what a rachet strap is -- is it like a motorcycle tie-down with the racheting gear?

Yes , basically. Any hardware store sells them, in red or blue sling material, 1", 2". the ratchet looks like a buckle on a large pin, and each end has a hook. When you buy it, it will be self explanatory .Your basic rigging stuff that you should also use for tying things down on roof rack. Obviously if you are going to use it as a double end puller, the larger the ratchet strap the better.
