D90 member in San Francisco?

I am interested in the 97 D90 SW list in the for sale section. Is there anyone in the San Francisco area that would be willing to check it out for me? I would certainly compensate your for gas, time, flowers in your hair, etc. Truck is actually in Pacific Heights. It's got some miles but it came from the midwest and my major concern is rust.

Sorry about the "flowers in your hair" comment; no offense intended. I'm 50 years old and associate San Francisco with Haight Asbury, flower children, etc. The quote is from a song by the Cowsills (I had to look that up) called "I Love the Flower Girl." It's no fun getting old.

I was thinking you were talking bout that Scott McKenzie song, "San Francisco (Be Sure To Wear Some Flowers In Your Hair)". I`d offer to check it out, but I wont be home (San Francisco area) for another 2 weeks. I guess worst case scenario if nothing else has come together by then I can help you out.

If you are still looking for help 2 weeks from now, PM me and I`d be happy to check it out.

That song might actually be the inspiration of my comment; I remember it now also. Thanks for the offer.

I'll be back in the area for the next 2 weeks. If you'll do the preliminary contacts I'll see if I can link up with the guy and give you an unbiased opinion. I wont be able to do a compression check or stuff like that, but I know my way around a D90 and can tell you whether or not I'd buy it. It would be especially doable if he was able to meet me somewhere but I might be able to make it to the city.

I found a vid of that 97'D90 owner singing a dance version of that San Fransico song Gary.

Nice! I'm lucky I don't have a sound card on my work computer. I'll have to check it out tonight AFTER my kids go to bed.

Got the full experience this morning, Neil. Nathaniel was right; I was thinking of the Scott Mackenzie song. Although my fond memories may have now been replaced by the classic melodies of The Global Deejays. I think the Chili Peppers should do a remake.
