D90 Front bumper/winch choice

I'm looking for some advice on the best choice of D90 front bumper and winch to give the best approach angle. Any advice from experience would be more than welcome.

Thanks,
Owen

Simple design and strong built.

Hey,
Will a stock "A" bar fit on that Bearmach?

Devon 4x4 does some sick bumpers...good luck on shipping across the pond though...

I'd do it myself/custom...

Rockware... Is a great choice.

I have a SG (Safari Gard) and really like it, but they have since quit making them for the public, although you could probably get one through ECR (East Coast Rovers).

The ARB looks nice, but the approach angle is garbage. I had one on my truck for seveal years.

As for winches, my favorite is my Husky 10...it has a worm drive and can run all day and all night. It is a little slower then Warn, but it does not heat up like they do.

Do you have a 90 picked out already?

Scott

Hi Scott thanks to you and all posters for great feedback! Itís kept me busy on research. A good D90 friend suggested a Churchill bumper but like SG they seem to be long gone.

I hadnít heard of Bearmach/DAP and really like that low profile, minimalist look Ė if there are no other drawbacks.

Yes, getting closer to landing the D90 that Iíve been searching for - hopefully in time for prep and getting in some high country expeditions this summer. If this one doesnít come through I should post a Wanted threadÖ

not the cheapest option:
http://www.roverhybrids.com/D110_Bumper.html

I've also got plans to build a very aggressive front bumper with an 8274 winch, trimming the lower part off the front of the fenders and sinking the winch into the grill(no A/C allowed)

Doug at Ships Mechanical makes a nice bumper, the approach angle is the same as the factory bumper in the middle, as you can see the sides are raised for improved appraoch angle in front of the tires. I have the optional brush guard set up. His phone number is 503-252-5566
