i should have clarified, i apologize. I meant for the sides of the tub, large plates. I could always get the stock and fab them but was thinking maybe someone had done this already.

I photoshopped the attached onto a google pic of a defender so you could see what i mean. Sorry my PS skills arent great but you get the idea.

Do you want to ruin the body in order to protect it?

Some one needs to dig up that old picture of the 110 with all the black diamond plate... It is/was a train wreck.

What about something like these instead? I don't really like the door one, and I think they look better in black, but I couldn't find a picture online of them in black.

Actually those are perfect. Also, i wasnt planning on drilling the truck to death, just see a lot of old CJ jeeps on the trails that have a lot of diamond plate for protection. Its no secret the defender body is a tin can.

that site has some really cool products. Thanks for the info

Bah. Dents add character. Too much treadplate makes a LR look like a roach coach. You can't fake a finely tree-sculpted fender.

Yeah, I've always liked the black ones on the tub, but I didn't want to install them on my 110 because I am trying to keep the mods to things that can be swapped back to stock without leaving a lot of holes etc.

Hydrik,

If your going to do it, the best way would be flat plate. No checker or whatever that rediculous thing is in the pic. The big problem is for them to really resist denting your going to have to use 3/16 steel and it will weigh a ton. A lot of Jeeps use it now, it really looks okay.

well the pic took me 2 minutes and was more to present an overall idea so I didnt have 50 replies with bonnet covers etc. You are right I would have to go with 3/16 S which would be wayyy to heavy and after this post I think I would get messed with so much Id rather beat the side of my D90 to hell before id cover it with anything.

Okay, so as the new guy here ive made/asked my %*cked up comment/question and have been made fun of. Im a sports car/hot rod convert, so gimme a break..We can talk Porsche's all day and ill make some fun back at you guys a bit....Actually I was thinking of putting a diamond plate hood on my 911? Know whwre I can find one?

Ignore the heckling, we are actually a friendly bunch.

I thought you were going to get a series to wheel, so why do you need the armor on the 90?
