D1 R380 in a D90?

Is it true that a R380 gearbox pulled from a D1 will not mate with a d90?

If it is the same engine, it will work, but the gear levers are in the wrong location. People do it and make them fit...

I think you'd be able to convert it using the linkages from your box as long as they are t the proem you are looking to solve

We have a used R380 in our inventory right now that came from a 95 NAS D90 if that would work better for you.

They work, I think it sits a little further back. If you go on Landyzone there a bunch of threads on how to make them fit.

You don't want to mess up your truck putting disco box in without making it fit in the same place as std.

A decent R380 from a NAS goes from around $500. I know where there is a core if you want to have it rebuilt ... The rebuild kits are available ... You just need to find someone to do it.

Otherwise you are gambling ... It's a shit job to change the box and you don't want to have to do it twice because the box you bought in good faith is junk.

DO NOT DO THIS!

Just find a D90 one or get yours rebuilt.
