d-90 tailgate repair

I've been looking for a used or new take off tailgate in good condition for a reasonable price. Even a series one might do(I think they are the same dimensions). The only tailgate I've found is one with a dented center verticle brace. It got that way from dropping the gate on the hitch like many others. Is that verticle center brace riveted in? Does anyone know if it is galvanized steel, regular steel or aluminum? Any thoughts regarding taking that piece out and straightening or replacing? Would I have to drill out all the rivets and take the whole door apart to get the center brace out and back in? Thanks in advance for the advice. By the way, the door with the dented brace is $100 plus shipping. I don't know if anyone has an opinion on whether that's a reasonable price.

The center rib is alum and spot welded in place so you would have to cut out the spot welds with a spot weld remover to take off the rib.

There is a post in my build thread from this weekend that shows how I removed spot welds from my tub

Thanks for the info Dave. Could I just drill out the spot welds like the spot welds on an American car or is there as issue with the aluminum being softer or are the welds bigger, thereby making drilling out not practical? Do you know if I can just replace the rib, or will I have to take the whole panel apart to get the rib out and back in without damaging it?
