D-90 Door check or check rod question

Can someone tell me where I might purchase a set of door checks or check rods for my front doors. I'm told these will keep my door from closing when it is open. Do these work well? Are they easy to install? Thanks. Daryl Scott

You probably have a 94 if you have trouble with the door staying open - switch to 95 doors and catch and they'll stay open. I dont know of a remedy but maybe someone else has an idea.

If you have a '94 you are out of luck without either changing to '95 or '97 doors or fabricating a custom mount. The attachment point on the '94 doors is totaly different from the later models. If you search this forum you should find a prior post I made regarding the same issue. I still haven't decided what solution I am going to pursue, but I am REALLY tired of having the doors try to amputate my shins

Mark: I saw your previous post and I also saw the penny remedy earlier. I thought your solution was for the 94 that's why I further inquired. Thanks for the clarification. I'll give the penny remedy a go. Any other ideas?. I recently installed stock door checks in my 80 Mercedes and what a difference. For some reason the door issue grates on me. Regards. Daryl

I looked in the FAQ for the penny fix. I saw it somewhere yesterday with a picture, but my all to domed head isn't serving me well today. Where is it? Daryl
