Custom LT77 shift knob

Well I was sick of the cheap ass plastic inserts breaking and my knob popping off.

So i went on a quest to find a nice normal solid black knob in the obsure thread shift rod pattern of 12x1.25 that the LT77 has on my truck.

Most common knobs didn't fit this, BUT by chance last week i stumbled upon a bowling ball manufacturer that also makes custom knobs.

They also happened to have the LT77 shift patter as a standard pattern that they could engrave.

Tell me what you think! Insert is turned brass so it wont strip or pull out too.

The knob is the clear swirl with black injection and red lettering. 2 1/4 in diameter (same as a billiards ball)

I will now having them make the LT230 diff knob for me as well, I will be sending them a picture of the knob pattern and they will draw it up for me, that knob will just be solid black and opaque.

They can embed anything you want into a knob as well make them as small a 1 5/8 or as large as 3in diameter

If anyone wants ill let them know to keep the LT230 diff lock pattern on file for other orders

One of my shift knobs was crap. I replaced it with this bad johnny. Yes it randomly says the company that makes it on the shift knob. But it had screws that you tighten down with a hex key. I like the size and the leather feel and it came with multiple inserts for different shift patterns.

I think it looks pretty cool. How about one with a rose in it like Bill Murray rolled with in the movie Kingpin.

What were you doing that caused multiple failures of the gear knob?

My lt77 is very very hard to shift when cold, i have since replaced the fluid with redline so i hope it helps

Also a big EDIT here, my trucks shift shaft was actually 1/2x20 threads not the metric thread i thought it was. The LT230 in my truck is M10 x1.5

I would make sure you know what you have before ordering.

Have you received the diff knob yet? Any pics? I definitely will order both. How much did they cost you?

Knowing any LR parts, especially custom, I did assume he has not received it yet and they are still trying to figure out the pattern. Trying to find shift knobs, unless stock crap, is a really hard proposition.

What size and model of knob did you get for the LT230 diff lock shifter? Could you share a pic?

I think I got inch and a eight?

Good news is now epco has the exact design of the lt230 shift pattern so it won't be a special charge.

I'm traveling right now, no pics forst least a week. It looks like it should be there, I got solid black for the tcase

I modified this knob for my overdrive with a hand carved Hobo Nickel. I still need to add more acrylic and sand/polish it to achieve a high dome.
