When the air moves across the cross drilled rotor it will sound kinda like a bad bearing, I have seen this before. What exactly do you mean by grind? like metal on metal or like when there is dirt in the breaks?

Well it sounds like metal to metal and I took it by the shop and the tech thought it was weird but said that everything seems o.k and I'll run through pads fast

I've done several cross drilled rotors install and most did the same thing at first, and after 100 miles it went away. No idea why it's doing though.
