Crank shaft Seal

So i am trying to replace the cranks shaft seal (front oil seal) and i can not get it to break lose.

I have put it in gear and spun and spun but it seems not to lock. (wheels keep rocking)

I have also tried to put a pry bar in the CV joint to stop the turning no luck.

I am trying to use a pipe wrench to turn the bolt.

EDIT: Sorry its a 4cyc 2.25 petrol

Any advice?

Thanks in advance,
Ben

Manual transmission? Block the wheels and put it in gear.

There are two "normal" methods.

1) Large impact gun.

2) Put long bar on bolt. Rotate until it touches the chassis. Bump the starter (make sure coil is disconnected so it won't start).
