Cracked door jamb

Ugh - anybody ever deal with this?

Guess I'll have to get it welded - or maybe a bigger backing plate.? Leave it? Will it get worse?

Welding that will be tricky, but it can be done. A backing plate will work, but an additional plate on this side, sandwiching the cracked area, will make it more effective. As a short term fix, anyway.

Thanks for the front plate tip - probably gonna go that route for now (and a bigger backing plate). Any thoughts as to what gauge?

Thanks again.

Also, drill the end of the cracks to stop the spread.
