Crackdown?

Was wondering if the "powers at be " started to crackdown on the late model trucks coming in, where would it happen? And who would be doing the cracking?

I ask this as a guy who is putting a 2000+ body on an actual 1983 frame with an actual 1983 brake box.

Likely it would be DOT or US Customs doing it at the points of entry.

Apparently Wisconsin has a bill in discussion to make anything later than '67 meet FMVSS standards for the year of mfg.
