Loving my HS 2.8 so far. Just the right amount of power and good fuel economy.

So figure 5k with shipping...
Julian is this a "re-built" engine?
3k for used disco motor, before the rebuild?
As for 3.5k for the swap, new or used or rebuilt?

Your fucking stupid to use a used motor and not go over it, top to bottom and make sure there are no issues.

1.4 box. First tank after getting it was mostly highway, 20.5 MPG. Now I'm split 50/50 highway and city and get on average 18-19MPG with a lead foot.

I'm doing my 300Tdi swap along with a bulkhead swap and all new gauges and all the other bits that come along with it. I'm going to be in the $8k range out of pocket for it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to like it.

A 200Tdi would be a good idea for "cheap". About as easy as it comes, and you will see an improvement in performance, but it will not be like any modern truck. Just get that out of your head. Unless you do the LS swap, this will never be a modern truck.

I've been watching a RRC get an LS swap in the area, he is going with all new components. New. Zero mile engine bought directly from Chevy. Amazing. But I'm guessing he is putting $15k into it.

I know Frank speaks ill of the tdi, but I love mine. Far easier than an ls swap
