Considering a move to Virginia, 300tdi registration question

Pretty simple, I hope. Would I be able to register my '95 NAS D90, converted to a 300tdi, in VA if it's garaged in Louisa Co.?

I'll let someone with more knowledge chime in but I think you will be OK. VA is pretty easygoing on vehicle related issues.

general rule (as far as I've heard), if not arlington county or greater richmond area, its legal.

You are fine. You have a pre OBDII year. In VA if the vehicle is 1997 or later you'll need to pass the emission test. Don't know why they did not include 1996.

found the webpage...

http://www.deq.state.va.us/mobile/mobfaq.html

Diesel-powered vehicles:
1997 and newer diesel vehicles with a manufacturer’s designated gross vehicle weight rating of 8,500 pounds or less will receive the on-board diagnostic computer system test. Diesel vehicles will not receive the tailpipe test, fuel cap pressure test, visual component inspection, or the visible smoke inspection.

The following vehicles require a Virginia Emissions Inspection PASS or WAIVER before DMV can complete the registration process. The requirements are categorized by fuel type:

Diesel-powered passenger or property carrying vehicles with a model year of 1997 or newer and with a manufacturer’s designated gross vehicle weight rating of 8,500 pounds or less

You will have no problems in Louisa. Compared to Maryland, Virginia is a walk in the park.

Thanks. I had found the DMV website, but wanted to make sure I was reading it correctly.
