It must be a 97 feature with having only one real vent, which makes me wonder if it needs to remain a faux-vent for some reason. Can anyone speak to this?

Mine had a "fake" vent on the Drivers side as well. There is no reason for it and I figured that the matching vents would help vent some under hood temps so I milled them both the same.

They scratch easy? I paid a good bit extra for the hard anodize that should resist scratching. I did notice that they were a little tacky from chemical residue from the anodize which picks up fingerprints and smudges. Seems to come off on the first wash. So maybe that is some of it. I hope you like them though!

i luv them !! everyone with a defender should get em because it opens up the drivers side vent to let air through unlike stock and makes the vents way more attractive, and actually compliment the car so nicely and easily... buck you have outdone yourself
will post pics in like half hour

and yes Ade only one side has holes other is shut (how lame is that !?!?)
didnt have a problem with the even-ness of the vents they fit perfectly
Thanks a ton! I am very happy people like them. BTW, I forgot a Defender could look that nic! You have a very clean truck there.

First, I love em!

But yes, they scratch very easily - particularly on the edges which are pretty sharp corners. It's no worry to me, but if you were debating between black and clear, and this concerns you, I'd go clear.

Just got mine (black) and they were scratched also; probably from shipping. I would invest in some bubble wrap going forward. All in all I am very pleased.

Thank You

Got mine today and they are just perfect. Added a small nylon washer, used stainless screws and am delighted with the outcome. Thanks, wonderful product.

Thats very wierd! I have wrapped all of them in bubble wrap individually so I must have just missed yours somehow. I'm dissapointed that they came scratched. If you want an exchange, I will send you a new pair.

I still have quite a few pairs. I am not sure if I am going to make another run. It is a good bit of work and I am really just doing it for fun and helping the board.

Another note on the scratching, the ones I have here are actually quite robust. When wiped with water, any scratches come right off. I fear that maybe the paper is rubbing to much on it in shipping. From now on I will do bubble only.

Cheers

Hi, David,

I'm interested in a pair of the vents in black. If you can confirm that you still have a set I'll send $117 via paypal.

Thanks!
