I have no problems starting my 200tdi and have never used my glow plugs. Byrne, i think we should talk at some point about your wiring. your battery regardless of size should last for more than one crank.

I know my wiring has been screwy but it seems to mostly be sorted out. Everything I've mentioned prior in the forum (starter issues, relay issues, and ground issues) either I or a specialist sorted out (mostly the latter).

For a while here it was a high in the negatives and I didn't have anywhere warm to park it so the battery was very very cold for several weeks. I've noticed a huge difference between say -5F and 25F with the battery. It's an optima red top I got in September FWIW. I have since bought a battery blanket which pretty well ended that problem; rereading my last post I see I wasn't very clear about that.

Overall though my engine hates running in weather that cold and has significant power loss until it warms up a bit.
