Code P1178

What was your solution to this (codeP1178) and the knocking?

My D-90 threw the same code today and has been ticking real bad the past few weeks since I started driving it again. I also had the following two error codes as well.
P1313 Misfire likely to damage catalyst bank A
P1314 Misfire likely to damage catalyst bank B

Thanks,
Rob

CEL was on and it scanned P1178. I reset it and it hasn't come back on yet but it probably will. From what I've read it could be the MAF Sensor, Oxygen Sensors, Vacuum/breather hoses, fuel filter, air filter, injectors? If anyone else has had this code how did you do to fix it? Thanks.

It sounds like you probably have an intake leak. How is the idle? Is it high? Check the condition of the breather hoses for sure, and don't forget to take a look at the hose from the intake plenum to the fuel pressure regulator. Also, check for loose hose clamps on the breather hoses (and other intake hoses).

Idle is not high, does idle at 1000 RPM sometime for some reason. I think I've replaced just about every breather hose. Will check that fuel pressure regulator hose. The code hasn't come back after 50+ miles so maybe I lucked out. Thanks.
