Cobra 75WXST CB Owner's Pics

I'm considering getting the Cobra 75WXST CB and wanted to know and see how other people have installed these.

I have a '97 automatic. Please include pictures and any relevant details.

Thanks.

I mounted the box under my tuffy console with the cable that the handset connects to hanging out. While the console idea doesn't help you much, the nice thing about that unit is that you can mount the box remotely and hidden and remove the handset when you like.

I put mine under the driver's seat (in the battery box) with the connector sticking forward just to the right of your legs. Quick and easy and no fancy wire routing needed I don't have a picture handy but will try take one over the next few days.

Thanks for your responses.

It sounds like an install under the driver seat or under the false bottom in the '97 cubby are my best options so far.

Where does everybody route their antenna cabling? Did anyone drill through the body. Im really nervous to do so and have simply been wedging the cable btw. the rear door and body.

I'm probably going to change it, but in my case it was a non-ground plane wire which has a small end that could fit between the body and the rear cross member and I routed it right to the point I was mounting it ( a bracket mounted to the rear light guard mounting holes). I'm considering switching to a regular grounded cable and mounting it on the rear light hoop, at which point I'll try route it with the exiting wiring (including going inside the bar).
