Clutchless vs. Viscous Radiator Fan

I have just confirmed that my viscous fan is no good, utilizing the "newspaper test" recommended by a few d-90 members. Now, I am trying to decide whether to replace the fan on my 200tdi with another viscous fan or a fixed fan. I like the idea of a fixed fan as it should hopefully be "one and done". A new viscous fan, however, will eventually fail. Also, the only down side of a fixed fan that I have heard of is a slight loss of speed / power(I don't know if this is true or why it would be). I'd appreciate hearing thoughts on the matter. Also, I would be buying the fan from Pendy, so any experiences with his specific fan would be welcomed.

Temperature Test- Take a rolled up newspaper and see if you can stop the fan from turning with it when normal engine operating temperature is acheived.

Where can you get a viscous clutch or coupling for the fan? My motor is a 200tdi from a 94 discovery. Rovers North?
