Clear coat for new shocks

Just got in the new Rancho RX9000 series shocks for the 101 and want to add a clear coat to them to prevent the salt and snow melt chemicals from eating them apart like my last set that I sprayed with a clear lacquer coat be for install.

I was looking at POR15's GlistenPC 2 part clear coat # GPCQ

or Eastwood's Diamond Clear #10196

any one have any other success with any other clear coatings in areas where salt and other new chemicals are used to melt snow and ice daily ?

lol I wonder if I could paint old OME shocks yellow and then try to sell them as "new" jk

OP, before you clear coat them, be sure to scuff the surface with 1500 grit sand paper so it'll stick.

A guy told me one time "don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat from around the corner"

For corosion resistance, try a high zinc paint like cold galv.

Besides galv is Land Rover chrome
