Cleaning diamond plate - exterior

Do any of you have any good suggestions for cleaning the "patina" off exterior diamond plate?

Look through Chris Vitale's truck build up. It's in there.

Thanks, found it. Liquid metal cleaner, buffed -- followed by Mother's Metal Cleaner buffed. I've never taken the diamond plating off, but is it as simple as unscrewing? Seems like it would be easier to clean with the metal removed...

If it's screwed on, it's that simple. If it's riveted on, it's not that simple.
