My handheld reader displays P3999 and I'm pretty sure it means no codes set. It's been a while since I've hooked it up.

i am having the same issue right now and am getting the p1193 code.

i have an obd2 scanner and cleared the coeds but as soon as i restart the Check engine light pops back on.
i need to get that light off to get my state sticker, is there another way beside replacing the O2 sensor? i don't have the extra cash to replace that right now and i need to get it registered. any suggestions?

boatbuggy@aol.com sells O2 for a little over $100.

Follow-up Post:

Humm,

Check the wiring on the one O2. I have seen them melt and short. Since it is open circuit that is possible (or it is just a false code for whatever reason).

on for one sec. and then off is the correct self test.

Crawl under the truck when it has cooled off and feel up and around the cats there are 4.
2 each side.
there are 2 up front near where the down pipes bends and 2 more about a foot back
