cheapest place to get an engine wiring harness

My check engine light is on and the code claims it's a bad engine harness. What is the most cost effective way to replace the unit I have. I don't even want to say what Rover's North is charging.

Your buddies 90, late at night?

ECR? Couldn't resist.

Could you check the harness to see what aspects are bad, like the obvious?

Just fix what you have it would be a good learning experience. I doubt it is the problem anyway.

what is the actual code you are getting. Maybe someone has experienced it before and could help you get it fixed. Not likely that the complete harness is bad!!!

Question

Is there a code for a bad wiring harness? How would the ECU detect a short in the harness vs. a short in a sensor/connection?

I haven't ever seen a code indicating the wiring harness is bad. The closest thing I have seen is the internal ecu memory failure.
