Cheapest place to get a new FRP?

Hey there,

I want to source a brand new FRP hard top for my soft top D90...where is the cheapest place to get these? & if it is outside of the US, that's better as the truck is located in Dubai (Middle East).

Thanks.

I thought they stopped making them? You mean Fiberglass hardtop right?

I dont know what the cheapest place is, but they do make them for non-nas trucks. Some dont have the cut-outs for the NAS cage. A tour through mobile.de will reveal"cabrio" defenders wearing them.

Well, my D90 has the NAS cage, so I need the NAS hard top (FRP = Fiber Reinforced Plastic)...
I was quoted a whopping 3K USD from a very good vendor, but I thought that was steap (prefer being soaked in the rain and get me some ARBs and a winch )

Around the 3,000 is the qoute I have been getting from people. I am looking for one myself, but like yours mine is also NAS, so if anyone knows a place that has a really good price for them that would be great....

Wink

One option is to remove the roll cage for the winter and get a metal hard top UK style

I got 2,800 from Rover Connection but 1,000 $ shipping (is there second day to Dubai from the US? )

I am actually seriously that UK hardtop idea...it'll cost me 400$ with teh paint and 20$ for labor to take it on and off

That's what I've resorted to (the UK hard top). I'm in the process of devising a way to fabricate a roll cage that will allow me to pull the hard top off and use a canvas top, similar to the MOD.

Ok...did some phone calls...

Used sides with glass in exc condition 130$ both
New rear quarters with glass 94$ each
New roof (with sun roof ) 412$
Labor to fabricate this going around the stock cage (condition that everything remains stock except the new roof) 100-200$
Painting total 200$

So that is in the range of 1 grand for a hard top...

Thanks FRP, but no thanks

Work should start Feb
