Chance to import 1988 defender 110 to California, need advise and help

hello everyone
This will be my first post in this forum. Please I ask for your help
I have a chance to import a 1988 defender 110to California. It's so unfortunate that we have strict rules and laws. I have a few questions to ask, hopefully a few of you will help.
There is the 25 years exemption rule in California, defender is safe to import into USA without any issues so as long as everything on the defender is as original as possible?
I will also face the smog issue here in California, do I have to upgrade or add any parts to it for the defender to pass smog test or will it just pass it automatically?
Are there any companies that will help me fix any smog issues I have with dmv?
Would you think I will have problems importing 1988 original into California? Will they ive me a hard time?
This defender is all original with left side drive , white with no cage, manual transmission and supposedly 8 cylinders.
I would greatly appreciate all the help I can get from you guys.
All my life I have big love for a defender and I hope this thing will work out for me.
In the process , I will call the right offices to ask a few questions regarding this matter.
Please advise

Edmond

Yes you will have problems directly importing it - I would recommend buying one already titled in CA

That may be in SLO, but the plates look like it's still registered in Oregon. Something to verify, but it certainly doesn't matter as it would be perfectly legal in CA!

I'll rent you one of my studio apartments in Eugene, OR (no smog requirements) for $5000/yr. it can be your secondary address where you keep your 110 (per se)

Beautiful old trucks! Who needs to buy "heritage in name only" trucks when you can buy true heritage! ;-)

I will check the recommended forum posts again about California.
I am just shocked at what I am hearing and reading.
I can't afford to buy the defenders here in California.
Tomorrow I am going to talk to a customs agent here in Los Angeles and see what the options there are.
I will copy the recommended forum post about California and take it with me to the appointment.
I am very sad about all this.
I want to thank everyone for their help and patience, I didn't mean to piss off anyone here.
I will keep everyone updated with this matter after talking to the agent.
Best regards
