CAV Pump Rebuild Cost (2.25l)

Hi all,

Anyone have an idea on what a CAV pump rebuild will cost on a 2.25L diesel?

Rebuild?

Buy a used one?

Thanks.

-Neil

Give Giles at Performance Diesel up in Canada a call. He built the pump for my mk1 Jetta TD. He made that old 1.6 TD fly.

I have seen them on Ebay for as little as ten bucks. Sometimes they are mislabeled or sold as Perkins pumps.

The CAV's aren't special and any decent injection shop can rebuild them. When I lived in VA I had them rebuilt at a place in Baltimore, I can't remember the name but probably have some receipts in the file cabinet if you need to know.
I think the place I had them done in VT has gone out of business.
