CAT or not to CAT

okay so it seems the CATs are bad on the D90, either leaking at the welds or the insides are toast.

My brother in law says to remove them completly, weld a straight pipe and the engine will compensate and tune itself, hopefully!

If say this works out fine but, wont it be much louder then?...I already run a borla CAT back system and I can tell you it is great for me but some people find it loud.

For me a better alternative is to cut out the old CATs and weld in a Magnaflow replacement CATs and I'm back running again.

Speaking of welding in a new CAT, will any universal CAT do if its the general shape and size/length you need?

The exhaust fumes are killing me inside the cab!!!

Even if it is "legal" at the state level it would still be against the EPA rules

And you can see how those that may or may not have converted to Diesel feel about the EPA rules.....
